Cessna 172 M/N
I am delighted to present this new C172 mod, which completes the glorious Skyhawk family.
Compatibility
This plane is built with MSFS2020 SDK and is a 2020 native plane.
This plane is currenlty mostly compatible with MSFS2024 as a legacy port, that is to say, without fancy new 2024 features.
How do I install it ?
Like all other mods :
- Have a carefull look at the compatibility list before using it.
- Remove previous version if there is one (in case some files are removed).
- Unzip the provided file below, drop the directory from the zip in your community folder.
- You can of course use your prefered mod manager to install / activate / deactivate this mod/

Cessna 172 M and N variants you said ?
The Cessna 172M built from 1973 to 1976 is a classic Skyhawk known for simplicity, light handling, and excellent reliability. It uses a 150-hp Lycoming O-320-E2D engine, cruises around 105–110 knots, and has a maximum gross weight of about 2,300 lb. The M model is especially popular with flight schools thanks to its forgiving flight characteristics, straightforward systems, and strong reputation for durability.
The Cessna 172N “Skyhawk/100” built from 1977 to 1980 introduced a 160-hp Lycoming O-320-H2AD engine, raising gross weight to about 2,400 lb and slightly improving climb and cruise performance. While it offers better useful load and performance than the M, early examples of the H2AD engine developed cam and lifter wear issues, making maintenance history an important consideration.

The goal is to get two variants in the hangar :
- C172M
- C172N (not yet released)
This mod is based on the C172SP from asobo, thanks to the to Games content usage rules.

Feel free to help on this mod : contributions are welcome, either on MSFS forum (cf supra) or on my discord server.
Most of the liveries for Asobo C172SP should be easy to convert to this plane. You may expect modifications on the nose plane.
Credits
A lot of the instruments were taken from Sal1800’s devkit on github. Opensource resources are not a common thing on MSFS, hats off to him !
